You can keep your mealworms in a well-ventilated container with dry substrate such as wheat bran or oats. Our containers come with ventilation holes and wheat bran, so it is okay to keep your mealworms in them. Feed small pieces of fresh vegetables such as carrots or cabbages once every few days for hydration. Store in a cool (20-28℃), shaded area indoors, away from direct sunlight. Keep away from warm temperatures and high humidity and remove any leftover food waste to prevent mould.

Lesser mealworms are vectors to poultry pathogens and parasites, and should be kept isolated within the enclosures of your feeders. Ensure that the sides of the enclosure are smooth solid surface without holes, like plastic or glass, to prevent them from climbing and escaping. They also like to reside in damp environments, so ensure that a water source is given to them at least once a week.
